Saturn AURA is yet another hybrid family sedan that promises good fuel economy, hence the tag green line. The manufacturers claim that even if you go green, you can still have excellent fuel economy and a great drive together. The 2008 Saturn AURA Green line hybrid is one of the latest models, though a carryover from the year 2007, with more sophisticated controls for better handling and performance. This particular hybrid is available only in 1 trim, which is as a family sedan model.
The 164 hp engine of the Saturn AURA hybrid Green Line achieves a fuel economy of 24 miles per gallon in the average city road condition and about 32 miles per gallon on the highways. This family sedan comes with a comfortable and standard 4 speed automatic transmission, with overdrive. After a series of flops, is it safe to trust General Motors with a hybrid model launch? The answer turns out to be debatable according to many people. While we agree with the value for money design, we do not agree that people purchase hybrids to save cash. Even though the car is affordable at $22,695, it does not seem to match the hybrids of rivals.
But does it mean thumbs down for the model? Not yet. The car offers better technology than rivals, at low pricing. The cabin is comfortable and the styling neat. It is not so much in the running for performance rates, but it is not worth ignoring either. The exteriors are pleasing and the interiors roomy, so this bodes well for the car’s convenience factor. Reviewers feel that styling, convenience and pricing are the highlights of this 2008 Saturn AURA Green line Hybrid. The AURA sedan ahs already been appreciated by the customers, and the hybrid AURA is not lagging behind either. It turns out that many buyers do want to go green and save cash, while buying a well styled convenient family sedan that suits the purpose of routine in-city travel.
