Volvo S40 Review: 2008 Volvo S40: A family car

The S40 car was originally a launch by Volvo, the Swedish auto giant, in order to help themselves to a good share in the American auto market. The traditional Volvo models were all typically box shaped and very conventional in design. But customers wanted more and soon shifted to other brands. As a result, Volvo had to rethink designs and the new S40 was the appreciable outcome of some redesigning. This was the one model to have a sleek look with some well-designed exteriors and other features. This set the path for more innovations on the same model. The 2008 Volvo S40 is definitely a car worth buying.
Most users have nothing but good things to say about the new 2008 Volvo S40. And why not, when the car’s styling and sporty feel have excited the driver? The car definitely looks great but performance is still nothing significant to talk about.

The car has a minimalist feel at times and the cargo space is less according to some customers. The control is good and the steering is easy to handle. The car has several special safety features which make it a convenient family car. On the road, this model does not give very high fuel economy but works well for everyday routine. This Volvo s40 comes in three different trims, each with subtle variations.

The performance is decent and the car does qualify as a reasonable sports Sedan. The trims are available with stick-shift and all-wheel driven options. This compact and speedy Sedan as some additional optional packages which the customer could buy to enhance the existing features of the S40. The exteriors have done well with some thoughtful styling. The interiors are cozy but not too cramped. Safety features include Whiplash Protection System and a Blind Spot Information System.

The car is a surprise from the Volvo family after ages of conventional design. A little out-of-the-box thinking has culminated in a wonderful car that is good enough for family travel. While the car could get sportier, it does boast of a sports Sedan styling.

Transmission: 3 out of 5…. Automatic transmission is quite convenient to manage.
Handling: 3 out of 5… quite okay on average roads but not so good on highways.
Safety: 4 out of 5 … Great safety features, including the whiplash protection system against neck injury.

Value 3 out of 5… Quite affordable and worth the $30,000.
