This two-door, 2-passenger Pontiac Solstice cannot be called as a family car but I just a sports car. The new affordable Pontiac Solstice Roadster comes in 4 trims namely the Pontiac Solstice Roadster Convertible base model, T2 convertible, SSB convertible and the powerful GXP model.

The all-powerful GXP convertible model comes with a 2.0 litre, 4 cylindered engine. The T2 also has the same engine features as that of the GXP. Meanwhile the convertible and the SSB come with a 2.4 litre engine. The GXP and the T2 Pontiac Solstice Roadsters has a horsepower of 260 at 5300 rpm. It also comes with a torque of 260 @ 5300 ft-lbs. The other two models have a horsepower of 173 at 5800 rpm and a torque of 167 at 4500 ft-lbs. The 5-speed transmission is standard with all the models. If you want, there is also an option for the auto transmission version.

A carryover of the 2007, the new Pontiac Solstice Roadster has upgraded some of its earlier features, which has increased its performance and also has given a more pleasing look. Driving the new Pontiac Solstice Roadster is very comfortable and also easy to handle. With rear wheel drive and slip differential, you can glide through any road, be it bumpy or levelled. With an upgraded mono-tube shock in the GXP model, you can have an amazing drive in the curves. The StabiliTrak system, which comes with a traction control, antilock brakes helps you to have full control of the vehicle. Another feature noted is the sensors in all the four wheels, which helps you to monitor the pressure.

You also have added safety in case of any collision with the standard airbags. The pretensioners and the crash sensors are an added feature in all the new Pontiac Solstice Roadster models.

The exterior has a charming sporty look. The lines are well defined that gives a charm to the new affordable Pontiac Solstice Roadster. The convertible comes with a glass window at the rear and a defogger. The seats come in top class leather, giving more comfort to your drive.  Where as the interior gives an attractive look, the greatest drawback is lack of inner space.
